Gotta say I LOVE the new compaign for Drunk Driving, which (I think) was put out by The Road Safety Council...Wrecked cars at the side of the road with bright, yellow signs. A great idea!
Others will probably poo-poo the attempt by citing the dangers of cars in this state will have on commuter traffic blah blah blah, but I say that Shock Value will go a long way.
I am sure I speak for all my fellow 2-Wheelers out there when I say WE USUALLY aren't the problem...it's the 4-wheelers, trucks, vans that rip around our roads 24/7. They can safely do so because they are surrounded by 2 tons of metal. Bike riders are TOTALLY exposed & at the 4-wheeler's mercy.
Next time you Tailgate a bike, remember who is the most vulnerable.

A New Day
- We have to respect Flatts. The idea of ripping through Flatts at any time of the day is sad. Funny how Followers tend to accordion behind those of us who slow down on the way through.
- New Classification: Oh No You Don'ters = those types of 4 wheelers who, as a bike passes them, refuse to slow to allow said bike back into the lane. Little white van the other morning almost received a stem-to-stern scratch from my brake handle for refusing to allow me in.
- New Gas prices are absurd. WTF has Bermuda done to deserve a 6 month lag time behind the rest of the world on price hikes? And that for what is widely considered sub-standard gasoline as it is? Shell & Esso need to sort themselves out.
- CRV influx seems to have waned. The recent emergence of the Hyundai SUV, which is nicer looking & smaller, seems to be finally giving the upgraders a choice. Be interested to see if these latest Hondas keep up the tradition in Bermuda of rotting away in 5 years.
Content Shift
Keeping all of the myriad of topics in my head while it is still BC in the morning (Before Coffee) is getting harder & harder. I have juggled ideas on carrying a Dictaphone, ways to text myself, leaving voicemails, etc. - all of which may in fact endanger my own frickin life!
Instead, I will endeavour to condense my posts to bullet-points to be determined daily. These could range from general comments on road conditions to calling out specific licence plates for acts of Indicator Abuse/Neglect.
Easier for me....probably more dull for the Masses! And of course I reserve the right to fall back on the classical post now & then!!!
